SQUASH FINALS VS Hall 2
Our squash team took on hall 2 in the Finals today, and emerged as CHAMPIONS of IHG squash, piping hall 2 3-2 in an exciting finals which came right down to the final set.
First game, male singles. Dingyong took on the Grade A player from Hall 2. I got to give it to the Hall 2 guy man. He was really damn good.
Dingyong put up a good fight, but the gulf in standards was too wide to bridge. Dingyong lost in 3 straight sets as Hall 2 clinched the first point.
Next up was the female game. Ehh, I dont know is Ling An, or Ling Han who played. I only know its the older of the prof's two daughters.
Anyway, Ling An/Han slaughtered the opponent, and won in 3 striaght sets. Easy game for Ling An/Han. The score was now tied at 1-1.
It was then Kasster's turn to play. Again, it was a good fight against an IVP player. Eventually he fell 3-0 to the opponent, but he definitely gave the oppoonent a good run for his money.
Another whipping in the second women's singles, literally. Ling An/Han pwned the opponent in 3 straight sets. At the 2nd last point, Ling An/Han
whipped the ball at the Hall 2 girl's butt. It was hit with so much ferocity that she fell to the ground in a crumpled heap. Ouch. But, too bad. After she got up and resumed playing, Ling An/Han finished the last point. GG.
With the score now balanced at 2 a piece, Raj's game became the deciding game, as it has been for so many games en route to the finals.
Wearing his (tacky) blue bandana, and sporting a plaster on the side of his right eye, Raj looked composed and confident, albeit not very cool. hahaha. kidding.
The opponent, who i shall call "A", looked equally unfazed.
"A"started the game well, taking the first few points. I bet he must have been feeling yaya, thinking that this clown should be quite easy to beat. Unbeknown to him, Raj was actually just warming up.
Slowly Raj caught up, and never looked back, clinching the first 2 sets, which were very close. (i forgot the exact score) In the final set, can see that "A" was getting tired. Raj didnt look tired, but i know he was putting up a false front only. Actually he super shagged alr.
Final set Raj led for the most part, but waiting for him to wrap up the set (and thus the championship) was pure agony. Eventually, he put us out of our misery and won the set.
In typical drama mama fashion, he fell to the floor in exhasuted triumph.
From losing the opener against Hall 12, and now ending up as champions of IH Squash, the squash team has definitely come a long way.
This was also a perfect reply to last year's disquallification in squash.
ALL HAIL THE CHAMPIONS OF IHG SQUASH...HALL 6!
With the first gold medal in our grasp now, we will be looking forward to many more. Do continue to keep up the support!
