Hall 6 vs Hall 16 (30/12/2011)
[41:28]

With a considerable number of players who were unable to participate in the winner pool of the preliminaries, Hall 6 seemed to be a force that lacked in depth with its small squad as compared to the full squad of Hall16. However, as the game progressed, quality prevailed.

Led by Yanzhi and Marcus, Hall 6 huddled together as a team. Strategies were discussed and words of encouragement were exchanged. After the usual cheer, Hall 6 started the game with the mindset of winning the game to ensure the advancement of the team into the quarter-finals.

The first few points of the game were nervy as the players of both sides were trying to settle into the game. However, after a few exchanges of offense and defense, Hall 6 was able to take the lead in the first quarter. And we never looked back.

The atmosphere of the court was great as our players were dedicated and united. Marcus was the leading role model for the team with his display of skills and enthusiasm. Always enthusiastic in defending and never backing down to make drives and runs for the basket, he played an important role both defensively and offensively. More impressively, Hall 6 was also able to stamp their authority under the basket as Hall 6 made use of their superiority in the paint to secure the lead from the beginning.

As Hall 6 did not have the luxury to rotate players freely, the support amongst teammates and the hall supporters played a crucial role for keeping the players going and the momentum steady. There were several good decisions made by the team to call timeouts to regroup the team after consecutive turnovers and also a chance for players to catch some breath, all at the same time to communicate and encourage.

Considered a close encounter with Hall 16, with sheer individual brilliance and a united team effort, Hall 6 was able to lead throughout the game and emerged as the better of the two, making its way to the quarter-finals.
